It's basically malware.
It auto-installs "security features" you didn't want or agree to. It auto-installs extensions to your browser. The VPN stopped me accessing Adobe Creative Cloud.
Avoid.

I recently switched to Avira cause my previous antivirus gave me trouble. I purchased the prime version it works perfectly on my laptop and desktop as well. I saw people talk about data selling but I didn't have any issues with it.

I cannot access my account due to sms verification (i do not receive them ) , and to get Support I have to login in to my account what weird company . I am very angry about this situation . i will cancel my future paid plan .

I just purchased Avira Prime because it included VPN, now i have installed it and now i can see only 500 mb are included in the price!!! This is very close to cheating your customers!! I am not sure that I will continue as customer!!

I was trying their month free before joining them -I decided to go for Kaspersky instead. when I deleted Avira, it let my laptop vulnerable now my whole system is messed up. I got all these malicious spammers messing with everything.
"I heard once that all antiviruses become a virus" I think this is what happened to me.

Avira Speed Up Pro scanned my laptop but failed to optimize. 30 minutes went and it was saying that it’s still optimizing.

I uninstalled and reinstalled the software but the problem didn’t go. I uninstalled it and bought Iobit Advanced System Care.

this program, has a lot of not developed, / bugs ! Especially in the plasswrd manager. How many viruses, etc. it find, I really dont know, but they scoore a lot lower than competitiors. The plasswrdmangaer, though, is almost useless, its can not take care of 2 accounts in the same domain. It even lost ! plasswords, it does not fill inn the email correclty.......and a lot ! Id did not even save the exoprt file correct. I have over |15 year of experiance eith google AND also LastPass, and they work, this does not !

What is this?

I am paying for a monthly Avira VPN subscription and they just charged me with 8 € two days ago. And on all my devices it now says: "You don't have a premium subscription" and I cannot use the VPN that I AM paying for, I got the receipt. I was trying to sort this out with customer support and apparently there is no way of reaching them, without a subscription. Which I HAVE because I AM paying.

So how do I either get my money back or get the services that I'm paying for here?

Despite not having an active subscription, Avira messages fill my screen every time I turn my computer on. Impossible to contact them unless you have a Prime account. After about an hour, I managed to find a Complaints page. Having outlined this complaint, I was directed to a page which would put me through to a technician, for which I would have to PAY! Infuriating.

I downloaded the "Speedbooster" pack for Windows 10.

It seemed good at the outset but then it started getting into programmes, eventually ruining my Google Calendar appointments and Google Email.

It took me forever to resolve this issue, so beware "Free" means free trouble! Stay away!
